Distill.Summr

Distill.summr

A clean interface for summarizing any article on the web. Paste a URL, pick a length, and get a focused summary in seconds — no account needed.

How it works

01

Paste a URL

Drop any article, blog post, or Wikipedia link into the input bar.

02

Pick a length

Choose Brief, Standard, or Detailed depending on how much context you need.

03

Get your summary

The article is fetched, processed, and returned as a clean readable summary. No ads, no distractions.

Supported URLs

Distill.summr works best with publicly accessible text-based pages. The following types are supported:

Wikipedia articles
News articles (BBC, Reuters, etc.)
Blog posts and editorials
Medium and Substack posts
Pages behind a login or paywall
YouTube or video URLs
PDFs or file URLs

History & Storage

Every summary you generate is saved locally in your browser using localStorage — no account, no server, no tracking.

Your history persists across sessions for 30 days. After that, entries expire automatically. You can also clear your history manually at any time using the Clear History button in the top right.

Since history is stored in your browser, it is device-specific. Clearing your browser data will also clear your Distill.summr history.

API & Limits

Distill.summr is powered by the Article Extractor & Summarizer API via RapidAPI. The free tier includes a limited number of monthly requests.

If summaries stop working, the monthly limit may have been reached. Limits reset at the start of each month.

This is a weekend project running on a free API tier. Occasional downtime or rate limiting may occur.
